Slut Walk and Maria Kong Dance party in the same night! I Love Tel Aviv!!!

6:00 pm, and I am walking through the streets of Tel Aviv in My favorite blue wig in support of woman being able to wear what ever they want and not be accused of provoking rape.  for further info and pictures on the event, check out my friend Tinamarie Bernard’s blog site.

There were about 200 people marching through the streets of Tel Aviv, chanting slogans and getting alot of attention.

I took my wig off, applied some more lipstick and headed off for my next event – “Mi Casa Su Casa”, by Maria Kong.  Last week my husband and I had gone to Suzan Delal to see there performance of Kong, and by mistake we stood in line for another performance and completely missed it.  The dance company invited us to this event, and I guess, as they say, all things turn out for the best, since it turned out to be one of my most memorable evenings in dance performance.

It started by me getting there before my husband and girlfriend arrived.  I was waiting outside for them with a cold beer in my hand.  A woman was standing in shorts and a t-shirt smoking a cigarette.  I asked if she wasn’t cold, and she told me she had just finished warming up (dancing).  I could tell from her tight muscular body that she was one of the dancers.  She told me she was from Brazil and

had been in Israel for only five months and had yet to experience the Israeli hot summers.  She had heard that they were harsh.   I must say that after seeing her perform, I really do think she will have a hard time of it with our summer heat – you see, she is already so steaming hot that without the winter to cool her down, the situation in Israel could become dangerous! 🙂

The entire evening was filled with surprises.  Amazing dance performances, live music, singers, and performance art, as well as some really nice art on the walls. The entire evening was in a party format inside their studio where seating and interaction were very informal.  They really did make everyone feel warm and welcome, and part of their home.   I am definitely a fan of this group!

Now its morning, and time to shop, cook, and clean and organize the family.  A short burst of reality before I fly off to go skiing in the Italian Alps tonight!
