How did you find out about the GV Indie Erotic Film Fest?
I found out about it from withoutabox.com, an online application service for film festivals.
Tell us a bit about your film. What’s it about? And what inspired you to create it?
“My Erotic Video Art is exactly what the title says. I have been working for over a year on a series of art pieces entitled, “My Penis and I and as part of my exploration into my relationship to the penis, I created this video art.
Seven minutes or less is a pretty tight limit. What are some of the challenges in creating a short erotic film?
While creating a short film may be difficult in the editing room, I like creating something that doesn’t leave the viewer enough time to become bored. I personally, do not have patience to watch most video art after a few minutes. 🙂
What’s your background in film or in making erotic films? How does making an erotic film differ from making a non-erotic one?
This is my first erotic film, and in fact my first video art since my studies. I love the medium! As an artist, I like to first think of a concept and then what medium best portrays the concept whether it be film, sculpture, photography or whatever.
What do you hope audiences will get from your work?
A laugh, a hard on, a little insight into one females fantasy world, a bit of freedom to explore the viewers own fantasy world.
Who are your performers, and how did you meet them/invite them to participate?
It was very important to me that it be me, artist, creator and actor in my video. The whole experience was exhilarating.
Were there any funny or unexpected moments while filming?
We were filming at my friend’s art studio, which is right next to very well known restaurant in Israel. The chefs and staff when they would come out back to smoke or take a break would look through the window while we were filming “ they were sure it was a porno flick! At one point I walked out in my bra and underwear and thigh high boots and asked if any of them wanted to participate in the film!
What advice would you give to first-time erotic filmmakers or filmmakers in general?
Have fun with it.
How does your film reflect your views on sex? Did you discover anything interesting or surprising in the process of making the film?
The film is all about my views on sex: playful, creative, humorous, sexy, power plays, fantasy, freedom and open mindedness. I discovered that putting on the screen my inner most feeling, for everyone to see is a truly liberating feeling.
What projects are you working on now/next?
As a multi-disciplinary artist, I am currently working on sculpture, instillation art, photography, short stories, novel, movie script,¦ and of course another short erotic video. 🙂
