12″ of Sin – Las Vegas, here I come!

My Sculpture, “It’s and Acquired Taste” was chosen to participate in a juried exhibition at Sin City Gallery in Las Vegas.  Opening February 2  till February 26th, 2012.   I’m so happy they chose this piece of mine.  It is one of my favorites.  On first glance it looks like beautiful glasses of Martini’s with olives and all on a silver tray.  Our first reaction is to grab a complimentary glass and take a sip.  However as the viewer gets closer, he/she notices the used condom draped over the side of the glass, and the contents of the glass becomes clear.  A moment of revulsion is felt,  and in many viewers the gag reflex happens almost automatically.  And then, the story is read. The inspiration for the piece,  and hopefully the viewer is left with some questions about the way we judge other people.
