A Walking Talking Vagina

A lesson in Art Activism.

I made this “costume” originally for a protest on more female representation in the government. Subsequently I have worn this to many different places – from parties, to Gay Pride Parade, and festivals. Each time it is warn, it gets laughs and comments and questions. Men and women have borrowed it to walk and dance in, and everyone who wore it comments on how it changes something inside. This to me is art activism – A large walking, talking, dancing VAGINA!
